1. General information
Students should recognize the different methods of artistic analysis as well as achieve a basic knowledge of the artistic reality of the society in which they live, which will allow them to foster their own creativity through autonomous learning. Likewise, they must develop a correct oral and written communication in artistic terms. This subject must develop their capacity for analysis, synthesis, organization and planning.
From this subject the students have to achieve different level objectives such as knowing how to correctly use the specific vocabulary of the discipline in the analysis of the different works of art. Likewise, students must know how to distinguish the main ideas from those that are secondary or depend on the first.

CE05. Knowledge of current art theory and discourse, as well as the current thinking of artists through their works and texts. To constantly update the direct knowledge of art through its creators.
CE08. Knowledge of the different functions that art has acquired through historical development. To study the evolution of the role of art through time.
CE10. Knowledge of Spanish and international cultural institutions and organizations and their functioning (museum network, exhibitions, biennials, etc.).
CE15. Knowledge of artistic methods that can be applied to socio-cultural projects. To study methodologies that facilitate artistic performance in the social environment.

4. Academic activities
1) Theoretical classes: they will adopt the format of oral presentations by the teaching staff of the theoretical contents of the subject in the classroom (lectures).
2) Practical classes:
-Analysis, commentary and interpretation of images through their projection and discussion in class, applying different methodologies.
-Commentary and analysis of the fundamental problems of the subject.
-Commentary and analysis of sources and texts.
-Some practical visits may be scheduled.
3) Personal study.
4) Tutorials.
5) Performance of the assessment tests.
5. Assessment system
The students who commit to and actively attend the teaching and the proposed activities in at least 85% of the total, will be entitled to a continuous assessment through the term.
The final evaluation of student learning will be obtained from the sum of the different parts of the subject (theory and practice, readings, exercises, class participation, oral presentations, objective tests, activities, etc.) according to the following scale:
-Theoretical objective test controls, representing 50% of the final grade. Students must demonstrate that they have assimilated the basic knowledge of the theoretical program explained, assessing the degree of maturity acquired as well as their intellectual and critical capacity.
-Individual learning practices (30% of the final grade).
-Oral presentations (such as readings, presentations of work, classroom discussions, etc.) (20% of the final grade)
Global Assessment
In the event that students do not opt for the continuous evaluation system, they will be evaluated by means of a final objective test, the model of which will be previously informed.

GLOBAL TEST
All students will have the right to take the global test in order to pass the subject or to improve the grade obtained. Students attending the exam must appear punctually on the day and at the time indicated in the exam´s notice, otherwise they will be considered as "No-shows".
SECOND CALL
The evaluation in second call, to which all students who have not passed the subject will be entitled, will be carried out by means of a global test that will take place in the period established in the academic calendar, to that effect, by the Governing Council.
